Lady Gaga's New Tattoo: What Does It Mean?

Lady Gaga's been dropping all kinds of personal gems on her social networking site LittleMonsters.com, from semi-nude photos to snaps from her childhood. On Friday, she posted a photo of her new tattoo, a relatively small piece that reads "ARTPOP" on the underside of her arm. Given the photo's caption — "new ink new album" — Fans are buzzing that this may the name of her upcoming album.

Note, also, that she has a total Playboy mouth in this photo.

Gaga hasn't said too much about her new album, but she has promised to switch things up quite a bit. She told an Australia audience earlier this summer, "Let's just say I feel, I feel that when I wrote Born This Way, I demonstrated a sense of maturity. And I feel that, on the next album, there's a lack of maturity, it's a tremendous lack of maturity or sense of responsibility."

Gaga also let a couple of lucky fans listen to a snippet of a new dance track as they gathered outside her vehicle in New York City in July. She's planning to confirm the new album title this September.
